How many times have you heard the claim that Christianity has been dramatically altered throughout the centuries, or that the Bible has been edited to fit a particular doctrine? It is often said that prior to the gathering in Nicea, Christianity made no claim to Christ's divinity, or even to a triune god. Some say that Christ's original message was about revolution or just loving your neighbor and had nothing to do with salvation. The original Christian message became distorted, probably by selfish individuals for selfish purposes.

So, are these claims true? How does one discover the truth? One answer is to go to the original source. The eyewitnesses of these events. Not just Peter, Paul, and the Apostles; I am talking about the Early Church Fathers. People who saw Jesus and were disciples of the Twelve Apostles. They have left us a wealth of information and insight into the very beginnings of Christianity. This book contains most of their surviving letters.

Would Jesus' very own mother approve of the veneration that He receives today? Did she really believe that her own son was God? Or, was Jesus' divinity a fabrication that occurred hundreds of years later? You can find out for yourself by reading Mary's own words in this book!

These writings are essential to Christianity and the Christian. Strengthen your faith and understanding by spending time with these The Early Church Fathers.

I would like to express my gratitude and undying admiration to all of the editors and translators who made this book possible. And a big thank you to the Christian Classics Ethereal Library at Calvin College who provided the text for this project. http://www.ccel.org/
